Crossdocking

Crossdocking that keeps freight moving instead of sitting

Inbound freight received, sorted by destination and sent back out quickly, with little or no time in storage.

1Inbound load
2Sort by destination
3Outbound trucks

How it helps

Every day freight sits in a warehouse costs money. Crossdocking receives inbound shipments, breaks them down by destination, and moves them straight to outbound trucks. It suits freight whose next stop is already known, and it can turn several partial shipments into fuller, better-organized loads.

What's included

  • Receiving and checking inbound loads
  • Sorting and breaking down by destination or PO
  • Consolidating partial shipments into outbound loads
  • Pallet exchange or rebuilds when needed
  • Labeling for the outbound leg
  • Coordinating timing with your carriers

FAQs

Crossdocking questions

How long does freight stay on the dock?

The aim of crossdocking is to keep that time short, but it depends on when the outbound equipment is available. If freight has to wait, we can discuss short-term storage.

Can you handle mixed-SKU pallets?

Yes. Tell us how the freight needs to be broken down, by SKU, PO or destination, so we can plan the sort.

Is crossdocking right for every load?

It works best when destinations are known and timing can be coordinated. If freight needs to wait for orders, short-term storage may be a better fit.
